A permanent Google retail store may be launching in Chicago

The building is two stories and nearly 14,000 square feet.

For the past two years, Google’s launched pop-up stores in major cities around the U.S. shortly after the launch of its new yearly hardware refresh. This is a good way to allow potential customers to get some hands-on time with the new tech, but Google may soon get a permanent home for its retail goods in Chicago.

Phones certified by Google will now feature Play Protect branding on the retail box

Google is making it easier to find phones that are certified to run the Play Store.

Google has always had a certification process for manufacturers in order to bundle its services, collectively called Google Mobile Services — which include the Play Store, Chrome, Gmail, YouTube, Photos, Maps, and Drive. Motorola is the latest company to set up retail stores in India

Motorola is targeting the offline sector with Moto Hubs.

India is Motorola’s largest global market, and the company is now looking to expand its presence in the country by setting up retail stores. The Moto Hubs will offer potential customers the ability to experience Motorola’s entire portfolio of devices in an environment that’s “open, fun and very uniquely Motorola.”
