Essential Phone 2 reportedly canceled, Andy Rubin considering selling the company [Update]

More than $ 100 million was used to develop Essential’s first products.

Bloomberg: Andy Rubin readying launch of new AI-focused phone

When the co-founder of Android makes a move, people pay attention.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Android co-founder and Google Robotics pioneer Andy Rubin has a team that’s going to build the next big deal — an artificial intelligence-centric smartphone and smart home products that work together.

Android co-founder and ex-Googler Andy Rubin joins venture capital firm Redpoint

Android founder and ex-Googler Andy Rubin has joined venture capital firm Redpoint, the company revealed today.

The announcement comes on the same day that Rubin’s startup incubator, Playground, disclosed that it had raised $ 48 million in funding from a number of investors, including Redpoint.
