OnePlus 6T debuts in India for ₹37,999 ($515), sales kick off Nov. 1

With the 6T, OnePlus is getting aggressive in the Indian market.

India is OnePlus’ largest global market, with the Chinese manufacturer overtaking Samsung to become the largest player in the premium segment earlier this year. At a media event in New Delhi that featured over 1,500 fans, OnePlus unveiled its latest flagship, the OnePlus 6T, in the country.

JBL’s Link Bar is an Assistant-integrated soundbar that’s also an Android TV device.

JBL announced the Link Bar — a $ 399 soundbar that doubles up as an Android TV device along with Google Assistant integration — back at I/O 2018, and we now have mode details on availability. Samsung reports Galaxy S9 sales slow

Samsung has released its quarterly earnings report, and the news for its flagship smartphone isn’t great. It’s by no means bad of course (low sales for Samsung is still high sales for anyone else), but sales of the Galaxy S9 are significantly lower than expected.

The earnings report also says that display sales have been lower than expected, but offset by the strong demand for memory. The quarterly operating profit is up 6 percent from last year.

Samsung’s Q2 2018 earnings confirm slow sales of the Galaxy S9

Mobile sales are expected to remain challenging.

Samsung just released its earnings report for the second quarter of the year, and in regards to its mobile sales, things are less than ideal.

OnePlus just surpassed Samsung’s flagship phone sales in India for the first time

Counterpoint Research shows Samsung’s drop-off was steep and poorly timed.

Here’s something we didn’t see coming: OnePlus just sold more high-end phones than Samsung in India. According to Counterpoint Research, OnePlus was the top-selling manufacturer in the flagship segment (₹30,000+, or $ 435+) in India for Q2 2018, hitting an all-time high of 40% market share. HTC just had its biggest drop in sales in more than two years

Sales fell by 62% this past June.

It’s no secret that HTC has been struggling for quite some time, but the past few days have been particularly brutal on the company. On July 6, the Taiwan-based OEM announced that its sales for June have fallen by a whopping 62%.

Samsung forecasts dip in Q2 2018 profits following weak smartphone sales

Samsung is still making boatloads of money, but profits don’t quite match up to previous quarters.

Samsung announced record earnings for four straight quarters, but that streak is about to come to an end. In its Q2 2018 earnings guidance, Samsung is forecasting an operating profit of $ 13.2 billion (14.8 trillion won), up 5% from the same period a year ago.

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 series crosses 5 million sales in four months

The Redmi Note 5 series becomes Xiaomi’s best-selling lineup to date.

Xiaomi has announced that the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro have cumulatively amassed over 5 million in sales. Both phones made their debut back in February, and the Redmi Note 5 Pro in particular continues to sell out within minutes during weekly flash sales.
