Samsung Skyrocket hands-on and initial review

More in the Samsung Skyrocket forums

Samsung Skyrocket

The Samsung Skyrocket is the AT&T LTE version of the Galaxy S II.  Built with slightly different hardware, and at a bit bigger size, and (the best part for many) the addition of an AT&T LTE radio for their blossoming LTE 4G network.  When a package from Dallas arrived, I know it could only be one thing, and we’ve got one of these beauties to put  [Read More…]

Video: Samsung Galaxy Nexus Face Unlock is cool, but is it secure?

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus announcement was filled with excitement and long awaited news. After months of hype and rumors, we got to see everything the device and Ice Cream Sandwich have to offer. One of the most interesting features was Face Unlock, which uses face recognition technology to unlock the device.

This sounds amazing, and it’s definitely cool to show off to your friends. It might be a great conversation starter.  [Read More…]

Best Buy’s Black Friday sale has Samsung Stratosphere in white (and others), free with contract

Best Buy

Black Friday looks to be full of free Android phones at Best Buy, including the Samsung Stratosphere in white.  While a store offering “free” phones after you sign a two-year contract is nothing new, this years selection at Best Buy looks like some great hardware if you’re not the kind who has to have the latest new and shiny Android phone.  Sprint customers can get a EVO Shift 4G free with their  [Read More…]

Samsung Galaxy Note review

Galaxy Note

As 2011 draws to a close, we’ve started to see a convergence of Android phones and tablets. Honeycomb-powered tablets are available in more form factors than ever before, and smartphones are growing larger still, with 4.3- to 4.7-inch devices quickly becoming the norm. Combine that with the phone and tablet software lines being reunited in Ice Cream Sandwich, and you start to see a landscape in which there’s very little separating a  [Read More…]

Gumdrop DTS case protects your Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or ASUS Transformer [Accessory Reviews]

Cases often present a strange trade-off between form and function. Either the case is protective and ridiculously bulky or it is stylish and slim but short on absorption power. The Gumdrop Drop Tech Series is the latest accessory that tries to be protective and pretty at the same time. Is it successful on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1?

The Drop Tech Series (DTS) case  [Read More…]

Still building hype for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the manufacturer and Verizon have told us nothing about the official price and release date. We’ve seen the phone in action and know about its awesome features. Its cases are already showing up in Verizon’s stores, but it seems we’ll have to wait a while longer to know when we can get our hands on this device.

Samsung Illusion device page surfaces on Verizon Infocenter

Samsung Illusion

It’s been a while since we talked about the Samsung Illusion, but a friendly ninja just dropped off a screencap of the Verizon Infocenter page for the entry-level handset in our inbox.  Imagine a smaller version of the Nexus S, minus the vanilla Gingerbread build and plus an SD card slot, and you’ll have a pretty good picture of what to expect.  The 1GHz Hummingbird and 512MB of RAM should make for  [Read More…]

Sprint: Samsung Epic 4G joins the Gingerbread ranks today

Just last week, Gingerbread finally overtook Froyo as the dominant flavor of the Android operating system, and that’s sure to increase now that Sprint is finally updating the Samsung Epic 4G to Gingerbread.

Similar to it’s drawn-out wait to get Froyo in February, the Gingerbread update was long overdue and not without its problems. Instead of arriving in June as previously thought, the update  [Read More…]
