Sony Ericsson promised to stay committed to the Android platform, and things are definitely looking good. One of the main requests from customers is for timely updates, and it seems Sony Ericsson is working on this. The company has just confirmed that all current Xperia devices (from 2011) will receive the highly anticipated update to Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0?).

You can always count on Eric Schmidt to say a bit more than what he’s supposed to. At the Dreamforce conference in San Francisco, Schmidt mentioned–intentionally or not–that Ice Cream Sandwich is coming out sometime in October or November. More specifically, he said:

The Nexus Prime rumor mill is up and at it again. BGR is reporting that the flagship Ice Cream Sandwich device will not be a Nexus device at all. Instead, the hotly-anticipated device will be launched in October as the Samsung DROID Prime.
