Vivo’s latest phone comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a less frustrating notch experience.

Vivo was the first to roll out a phone with an in-display fingerprint, and the Chinese manufacturer is now bringing the feature to its mid-range V series. Sony announces industry-first 48MP smartphone camera sensor

The sensor is also the world’s first to support a 0.8 μm pixel size.

Although their smartphones may not be well-known in the U.S., Sony’s the industry-leader when it comes to crafting mobile camera sensors for phones all around the world. The Mi 8 Explorer Edition is loaded with innovative tech, but you won’t be able to buy one.

Alongside the launch of the standard Mi 8, Xiaomi unveiled a limited edition model that offers plenty to be excited about. Moto Z3 Play CAD renders reveal side-mounted fingerprint sensor, no 3.5mm jack

Motorola’s upcoming mid-range Moto Z3 Play shows up, and there’s no headphone jack in sight.

We got a good look at the upcoming Moto G6 series last week, and early CAD renders based on factory schematics give us a first look at the Moto Z3 Play. Coming by way of OnLeaks and KillerFeatures, the Moto Z3 Play is slated to offer an 18:9 panel at the front with the Motorla logo emblazoned on the chin.

The Porsche Design Mate RS is a Huawei P20 Pro with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a $2000 price tag

More phone than you need.

As Huawei is wont to do, alongside the beautiful overkill of the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, the company unveiled the latest in its collaboration with Porsche Design, the Mate RS.

Samsung reported to skip in-display fingerprint sensor on Galaxy Note 9

Current in-display sensors “cannot meet Samsung’s technical requirements.”

During CES this past January, one of the phones that grabbed our attention the most was the Vivo X20 Plus UD – primarily because of its in-display fingerprint sensor. This technology was later seen on the Vivo Apex during MWC in February, and we’re anticipating more and more OEMs will adopt this new tech as we go about 2018 – one of which being Samsung.
