Samsung’s newest app rewards kids for showing smartphone self-control

Screen time is good, but it can be quickly abused. Samsung wants to help parents monitor it.

Samsung has introduced a new app for users in the U.S. called Marshmallow (via Android Police), and it has nothing to do with the aging version of Android. Google is doing a great job showing everyone why slow app rollouts suck

Unless you’ve received the most recent Google Maps update, with all of the fun new integrated location sharing features baked right in, you’re kind of screwed right now. Google starts showing song lyrics directly in search results

Google has teamed up with LyricFind to display song lyrics directly in its search results. The Toronto-based company signed a multi-year licensing deal with Google, allowing the search giant to offer song lyrics in the U.S. and international markets.

Speaking to Billboard, LyricFind CEO Darryl Ballantyne talked about how the deal would create an additional revenue model for musicians and songwriters:

Google’s faster-loading AMP news posts now showing in mobile searches

Google’s search results, particularly for news articles, are about to get a speed boost in mobile browsers like Chrome. The company has started showing news posts that support the AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) technology in its mobile web search results.

Hundreds of news web sites have pledged to support AMP, and posts that use the technology will load four times faster on average on mobile devices, while using 10 times less data. Google says:

Huawei’s Nexus new leaks again, this time showing some metal

Further pictures have emerged of what is claiming to be the as of yet unreleased Huawei Nexus prototype, at least the 5.7-inch version, given Google are expected to release two different sized Nexus devices this year.
