Google is shutting down Spaces after only nine months

The messaging app was no match for Google’s confusing messaging strategy.

Remember Spaces? The group messaging app that was sort of, kind of aimed at developers? It launched last May around the time of Google I/O and featured a bright, colorful tile interface. Each tile would have a bevy of Chrome, YouTube, and Google search links attached to it.

Coin officially shutting down product support by end of next month

Coin will be shutting down product services and support as of February 28.

The end is nigh for Coin cards, secure smart payment devices that allow you to store information from up to eight credit, debit or gift cards onto one, digitally secured, wallet-sized card.

Cyanogen’s services and nightly builds are shutting down next week

Cyanogen’s grand plan to put “a bullet through Google’s head” has failed.

It’s been a rough couple of months for Cyanogen that saw the company undergo a round of layoffs, shutter its headquarters, and part ways with its co-founder Steve Kondik. The company has now announced that it will be shutting its services and nightly builds after December 31.

Google shutting down Together feature in Android Wear

Samsung rumored to be shutting down Milk Music service

Samsung could be closed to closing down its Milk Music streaming service. A new, but unconfirmed, report claims that Samsung could replace Milk Music via a partnership or acquisition of another streaming service.

According to Variety’s sources, Milk Music has not met with the returns that Samsung expected since it launched in May 2014. While many users have signed up for Milk Music’s free version, few have paid the money for its premium tier:

Cloud storage service Copy shutting down on May 1

Barracuda Networks has announced that its cloud storage service, Copy, will be shutting down as of May 1, 2016. Barracuda made the announcement on its website, and is currently sending out emails to users to let them know that they have until May 1 to migrate their data or save their files. From the email:

Reminder: Songza is shutting down on Jan. 31, but it lives on in Google Play Music
