Huawei says its homegrown Hongmeng OS is not designed for smartphones

Hongmeng was apparently not developed to replace Android.

What you need to know Huawei Senior Vice President Catherine Chen has said that the company’s homegrown Hongmeng OS is not designed for smartphones. The company will continue to use Google’s Android OS on its smartphones. Hongmeng OS is expected to debut with the company’s upcoming Smart TV.

Huawei gets banned from using microSD cards in future smartphones

LG to reportedly stop producing smartphones in home country of South Korea

Phone production will be moved to an existing plant in Vietnam.

Quarter after quarter, LG continually loses money on its smartphone division. The company’s tried to shake things up, such as moving away from being committed to releasing a new phone every year, but it looks like things still aren’t working.
