India’s Reliance Jio is teaming up with MediaTek over an Android Go phone

India’s largest data carrier is set to launch an Android Go phone.

India’s feature phone market is still thriving, as evidenced by the launch of the $ 25 JioPhone late last year. The phone comes with 4G connectivity and access to Jio’s digital content library, and also has Google Assistant baked in, a first for a feature phone.

Nikon and Alphabet subsidiaries teaming up to develop advanced screening for diabetic eye disease

Everyone could use a little feel-good news to end the year on.

A new partnership between Nikon’s subsidiary Optos, and Alphabet’s research organization Verily Life Sciences (formerly known as Google Life Sciences) will look at developing new machine learning-enabled retina screening processes to help diagnose diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema, the leading causes of blindness among adults around the world.

Google teaming up with Huawei for the new Nexus

Spotify teaming up with Sprint to offer exclusive deals, reports say

Spotify and Sprint may be about to announce a partnership wherein customers of both will be entitled to receive exclusive deals. According to re/code, the proposed partnership will offer a similar product to the AT&T/Beats Music partnership, offering a package deal to customers on Sprint’s Framily Plan.

Gameloft, ARCHOS teaming up for preloaded content on G9 tablets

 

Archos G9

ARCHOS announced today that it has teamed up with Gameloft to preload its G9 line of tablets with two of the game maker’s popular titles. Trail versions of Spider-Man: Total Mayhem and Asphalt 6: Adrenaline will ship preinstalled on all G9 tablets beginning in December 2011. ARCHOS says that both titles have been optimized for the G9 line, and that the tablets’ dual-core TI processor will enhance both speed and performance.
