This is an image of David Hasselhoff and Sergey Brin is a mosaic of tiny Google Glass wearers

It’s The Hoff and The Brin. Glasselhoff and the Brinmeister. Explorer Hasselhoff and Master Brin.

Kris Kitchen, himself a Google Glass Explorer, took the next logical step from the April Fools’ Day jocularity of yesterday — Google+ David Hasselhoff Auto Awesome Photobombs — and took a massive collection of portraits of Google Glass users and assembled them into a masssive mosaic image of David Hasselhoff and Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

WhatsApp is down this morning

Hang tight, folks. WhatsApp, Facebook’s $ 16 billion baby, appears to be down for many this morning. While there’s never a good time for an extremely popular service to go down, it’s especially ironic given last night’s boasting of a record number of messages sent and received — to the tune of 20 billion sent and 64 billion received.

What I’m playing this week: First Strike

One of the cooler games I scoped out on the show floor at GDC 2014 was First Strike. Players start as a major super power nestled in their respective corner of the globe. Slowly, players expand into neighboring countries and begin researching recon, efficiency, missile, and national military technologies. Then the stockpiling begins. Every country  [Read More…]

Bringing Google Now to your wrist: This is the Android Wear interface

An interface that scales Google Now down to something usable on your wrist, with endless possibilities driven by developers.

Google has officially unveiled Android Wear, an operating system specifically tailored to wearable devices, and with that comes some new usability and interface challenges. Working with small wristwatch-sized devices and sub-2-inch screens, you quickly run out of room for interfaces and information. Alongside the launch of the new platform, Google has given developers an early look at  [Read More…]

Google Voice expected to merge into Hangouts this summer

Following trend with Google moving towards one single app that incorporates the functionality of all their social and communication services, it seems Google Voice is to be absorbed into the Hangouts app this summer.

Once the transfer of Google Voice into Hangouts is complete, you’ll be able to make VoIP calls directly from your Google phone number in the mobile app, just like on the web.

Google has already made its Hangout app take over the function of system-wide SMS  [Read More…]
