ThunderBolt’s Gingerbread update once again pushing out

ThunderBolt update

Finally, the Gingerbread update for the HTC ThunderBolt (that’d be the one we told you about this morning) is once again pushing out. This is the second time Gingerbread’s headed to the ThunderBolt; it was pulled earlier because of some bugs, including by not limited to voicemail.

Go to settings>software update to get things going, and hit the forums link below to see how it’s going for everybody.

HTC Thunderbolt Gingerbread update is finally available (for real this time)

thunderbolt-update-verizon-post

Getting a feeling of deja vu? Don’t worry, it’s not the Matrix glitching. Verizon told us the Gingerbread update for the Thunderbolt was happening at the end of September and then called take backs before we could stop them.

While you may have a new treat in mind now, it’s important to remember that the road to an Ice Cream Sandwich is paved with Gingerbread, or something like that.

Anyway, for  [Read More…]

Motorola, on Twitter, says RAZR, Bionic and Xoom will get Ice Cream Sandwich within 6 weeks of code drop (Update: Or not)

Motorola

Update: And proving our point that Twitter isn’t exactly the best way to go about something like this, Motorola has deleted any Tweet that references doing anything with a 6-week window. Carry on.

Original: Let’s explain (again) what’s about to happen here: Motorola, on Twitter, responded to someone with the following:

We’ll be releasing devices for ICS 6 weeks after Google releases the final version of it.

The Twitter account later clarified, saying  [Read More…]

Whoa there, Motorola! Getting aggressive, aren’t we? While other manufacturers are “looking into” device updates to Ice Cream Sandwich, these guys are not playing it safe. The company has decided to give us time frames. Motorola just tweeted that they will be releasing Android 4.0 devices 6 weeks after the final version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is released.

Verizon poised to re-release HTC ThunderBolt’s Gingerbread update

HTC ThunderBolt Gingerbread update

It’s been a few weeks since Verizon first released the Gingerbread update for the HTC ThunderBolt, only to pull it without official explanation. (Hint: Things were borked.) Looks like the updates set to roll out again, though, with an updated support PDF now live. There’s no mention of “things been fixed,” so let’s just hope that things been fixed. Check out the image above or the link below for the  [Read More…]

discover-sprint-4g-limited

Things are not looking good for unlimited data fans. People that do not like data tiers currently have a safe place to go to – Sprint. It seems like America’s 1st 4G network is going to start setting some limits, though. At least for 4G broadband users.

Sprint has announced that 4G mobile broadband users will no longer be able to enjoy their unlimited data plans. By the way, there will  [Read More…]

HTC Thunderbolt Gingerbread update anticipated to be coming (back) ‘soon’

HTC on Twitter

The HTC Thunderbolt has had a rough patch when it comes to Gingerbread.  Combine lots of rumors, even more leaks, and a pretty poor OTA that ended up getting yanked back and you’ll have a mix that’s bound to have Android power users up in arms.  We’re not going to judge anyone here, heck we can’t judge  — releasing software isn’t easy.  Verizon and HTC want you to be happy, because  [Read More…]

Update for the Motorola Photon 4G rolling out, brings video to Google Talk

Photon

Regardless of how big or small the update, it is just our nature as Android geeks to love any OTA that we are presented with (so long as it doesn’t break our beloved root, right?). Well, it seems as though Motorola Photon 4G owners are starting to receive an OTA update that brings quite a few bug fixes and new features to the device, and so far in the forums there  [Read More…]
