Verizon Wireless has released the official Android 2.3 build for the Casio G’zOne Commando, available via OTA update now. In addition to Gingerbread, software version C771M070 adds a number of performance improvements, including reduced lag and a fix to the proximity sensor. The myTouch family is growing. T-Mobile has put up the “Coming Soon” pages for two new myTouch devices on the official website (ahead of announcement). And boy, do these look good.

Too good to be true: HTC Thunderbolt update temporarily suspended

After waiting more than half a year, the Thunderbolt community rejoiced upon hearing that a Gingerbread update was finally ready. Of course, this was after many rumored dates and delays, but the HTC Thunderbolt was finally getting Android 2.3.

Motorola Xoom Wifi gets another update to build HTK75D

Word on the street, in our inbox and on our Motorola Xoom Wifi edition is that an update to Android 3.2.1 is rolling in. The “new” Android Market’s also along for the ride in build HTK75D, which would be a bigger deal if it wouldn’t have updated itself later anyway. But might as well have it tucked into a nice update.

Amazon Kindle Fire, the 7-inch sub-$200 Android tablet (Update)

Amazon is all set to unveil their 7-inch Android tablet to the market, with a press conference scheduled for 10 a.m. EST.  It seems Bloomberg has let the cat out of the bag a bit early this morning, and has revealed the official pricing for the upcoming tablet.

The 7-inch Amazon Fire will be unleashed for an incredibly affordable $ 199.
