OnePlus 5T gets first public Oreo update with OxygenOS 5.0.2

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – privacy and user security issues aside, one OnePlus’s biggest strengths lies with speedy software updates. The company launched an open beta of Android Oreo for the OnePlus 5T at the tail-end of December, and just a month later, a public Oreo build is already rolling out.

Redmi Note 3 update brings MIUI 9, but there’s no Nougat in sight

At this point, it’s safe to assume that the Redmi Note 3 won’t be updated to Nougat.

When Xiaomi launched MIUI 9 late last year, it announced that the update would be available to over 40 devices in its portfolio, ranging all the way back to the 2012 Mi 2. Stable Oreo update is now rolling out to the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6

A month after the beta build went live, the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are getting the stable Oreo update.

After announcing the Oreo beta program for the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 last month, HMD Global is now delivering the stable Oreo build to both devices. HMD’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas announced on Twitter that the OTA update is now rolling out to both the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6.

New ZTE Axon 7 update brings security patches, performance improvements

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything about the ZTE Axon 7, but that’s changing today, and it’s good news for folks that are rocking that device.

ZTE has announced a new software update for the Axon 7. The update bumps the Axon 7 to build B35 and brings with it the December 2017 Android security patches, fixes for the Blueborne and KRACK vulnerabilities, and some other improvements and fixes.

Some OnePlus customers have reported fraudulent credit card activity (Update)

A friendly reminder to always keep track of what’s going on with your card.

Updated 1/16/18 – A day after publicly announcing recent credit card fraud, OnePlus has since removed the option to use a debit or credit card directly on its website to make a purchase. For the time being, you’ll have to rely on PayPal for making any payments.
