Android Oreo gets its first update with September patches

Android Oreo has received its first minor update in the form of the September security patch.

Google’s Pixel and Nexus devices are receiving their first updates since Oreo was pushed last month in the form of a minor patch with September’s security patches. While some people already began receiving over-the-air updates (disguised as a downgrade to Nougat), the update is now official with factory images and downloadable, sideloadable (is that a word?) over-the-air (OTA) files available from Google’s website.

Google Drive returns after outage [Update]

It’s not just you: Google Drive is down for everyone.

Nokia 5 is already picking up the September security update

Nokia is beating every other manufacturer when it comes to monthly security updates.

Nokia said that it will deliver monthly security updates to its phones, and it’s continuing to do just that. The Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 picked up the August security patch a few days after Google rolled out the update, and now the Nokia 5 is picking up the September security update alongside the Pixels.

OxygenOS 4.5.10 update brings camera improvements to the OnePlus 5

OnePlus is steadily improving the camera on the OnePlus 5.

OnePlus is rolling out the OxygenOS 4.5.10 update to the OnePlus 5, introducing several camera improvements along with stability tweaks and bug fixes. The update adds noise reduction when taking photos and 60fps video, and improves the overall stability of the camera. OnePlus also improved call functionality for Jio customers in India, and fixed display issues encountered by a few users when placing a call.

Android 8.0 Oreo system images available, update rolling to Developer Preview users

Google has uploaded the Android 8.0 Oreo system images.

For those that want to be on the bleeding edge, the Android 8.0 Oreo system images are now available. Google has the images for last year’s Pixel phones, the Nexus 6P and 5X, the Nexus Player and the Pixel C.
