It’s unclear when things will be back to normal.

What you need to know Verizon customers are experiencing outages right now. Affected areas include large parts of the east and midwest. Major cities without coverage include Chicago and Detroit.

Verizon’s 5G network is already pushing speeds of nearly 600Mbps

Customers in parts of Chicago and Minneapolis can get 600 Mbps or higher with a Moto Z3 and its 5G Moto Mod.

Verizon’s 5G network is coming to Chicago and Minneapolis on April 11

The 5G Moto Mod goes up for pre-order on March 14.

5G networks are finally becoming a reality, and on April 11, Verizon will officially launch its own in Chicago and Minneapolis in the U.S. Following the launch of its 5G network in these two cities, Verizon says it’ll later expand it to “more than 30 U.S. cities in 2019.”

PSA: Verizon’s experiencing a service outage in Michigan

If you live in Michigan and rely on Verizon for your phone service, chances are you’ve noticed that things haven’t been working that well today. You’re not the only one.

Around 10:45 AM on February 27, Verizon customers started reporting they didn’t have service on their phones. At 3:00 PM, Verizon still didn’t have an ETA as to when things would go back to normal.

Verizon’s latest is the rugged Kyocera DuraForce Pro 2

Verizon Wireless this week announced the availability of the Kyocera DuraForce Pro 2, a ruggedized smartphone aimed at construction and public safety workers.

Priced $ 444, or $ 18.50 per month for 24 months, the phone is housed in a hard rubber exterior and meets the mil-spec 810G rating. In other words, it can withstand drops, shock, vibration, radiation, extreme temperatures, sleet, rain, and high elevations.
