Xfinity Mobile customers to be limited to 480p streaming, 600Kbps hotspot

Subscribers will have to pay for 720p streaming later in the year.

Xfinity Mobile, Comcast’s MVNO that’s powered by Verizon’s network, is about to get some new restrictions. Subscribers of the service are now getting emails from Comcast informing them about the changes, and they have to do with video streaming and mobile hotspot speeds.

Netflix will soon be included with Comcast Xfinity subscriptions

The bundles will be available this month.

Netflix and Xfinity are two of the biggest names when it comes to home video content, and now the two companies are joining forces to include Netflix subscriptions as part of certain Xfinity plans.

Comcast’s XFINITY Mobile now available in all Comcast markets

Comcast has finished rolling out their mobile network to all the markets that it offers home Internet.

Comcast announced its Xfinity Mobile service — mobile plans for existing Xfinity subscribers — earlier this year. The network runs on the Verizon Wireless network, so Comcast has plenty of spectrum they can use, but the company did not yet have the Xfinity Mobile service in every Xfinity market.

Comcast sets its sights for the wireless market with Xfinity Mobile

The television and internet conglomerate has teamed up with Verizon Wireless in an attempt to become its own mobile operator.

In its ever-present quest for wireless superiority, Comcast quietly launched its own mobile network, aptly dubbed Xfinity Mobile. The service offers an unlimited data plan or you can pay by the gigabyte. It’s only available to those with existing Comcast internet service, however.

SpeedTest.net crowns T-Mobile, Xfinity as the fastest networks

T-Mobile is having a good week. They recently passed Sprint to become the third biggest mobile carrier in the states. And now, another accolade. SpeedTest.net has named T-Mobile the fastest mobile network in the country, beating out rivals Sprint, AT&T and Verizon.

Comcast and EA team up to launch Xfinity Games streaming service beta

Comcast is preparing to launch a new service for its customers called Xfinity Games. It is teaming up with game publisher Electronic Arts on this new venture, which is currently taking sign-ups for its beta test. Xfinity Games will give customers a way to play games on their big screen TV that are streamed via their Comcast-provided set-top box.
