We’ve received a flurry of tips this morning from folks who own the WiFi version of the Motorola Xoom tablet. Apparently, Google and Motorola are sending a free ice cream sandwich an OTA update to owners of the Motorola Xoom tablet in the U.S., bringing the highly-anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Motorola has had some sort of secret project being prepared for users of their Xoom Feedback Network for quite some time now. It’s project time again for the Motorola Xoom, according to a few tips worming their way into our inbox. The one the Verizon Xoom got at the end of November wasn’t the Ice Cream Sandwich update everybody’s on pins and needles for. Will this one finally be the Android 4.0 upgrade? We’ll see. Want a quick sneak peek of Android 4.0 running on Verizon’s Motorola Xoom? Google just released a new carousel view for browsing image results on a tablet and we can clearly see the Verizon Xoom running a test build of Ice Cream Sandwich. Motorola already confirmed that the Xoom would receive a software update to Android 4.0, but they have yet to release the timing.

An internal Verizon MAP document leaked both the release date and on-contract pricing for the Motorola Xyboard line of tablets. The device that could go down in history as one of the worst named products will land on Verizon Wireless on December 8th (hopefully alongside the Galaxy Nexus). There are a total of 5 different SKUs in the Motorola Xyboard family.
