Google’s pop-up stores are now open in New York and Chicago

The Google Hardware Store is open for business.

Now that Google’s new hardware for the year is here, it’s time for the company to start promoting it and getting the tech into people’s hands. One way Google’s going about doing this is with two pop-up stores that are open now in New York and Chicago.

While we’ve seen New York pop-up stores for the past two years, Chicago’s replacing Los Angeles this time around.

New York is kicking Spectrum out of the state

The ISP failed to expand its services to enough residents.

Spectrum, the home internet brand from Charter, is getting kicked out of New York in the U.S.

On Friday, July 27, ABC7 reported that state is giving Spectrum the boot after it failed to meet demands that were set in place back in 2016. Although Spectrum says it made its network available to over 86,000 residents, New York was planning on 145,000 businesses and homes being serviced.

Amazon set to expand brick-and-mortar bookstore business into New York

World’s largest online bookseller to open Manhattan bookstore this spring.

At a time when traditional bookstore chains are shuttering locations around the country, Amazon is planning continued expansion of Amazon Books, announcing plans for a new 4,000-square-foot brick-and-mortar store in New York City. The store will take up prime real estate in the Time Warner Center within Manhattan’s Shops at Columbus Circle.

Samsung may unveil the Galaxy S8 at an event in New York in April

Galaxy S8 may not make its debut at Mobile World Congress.

Samsung may unveil the Galaxy S8 at a dedicated event in New York in April, a month after Mobile World Congress. Galaxy Note 7 explodes in New York, injuring 6-year-old boy

A 6-year old Brooklyn boy was watching videos on a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Saturday evening when it burst into flames as he was holding it. The young boy’s grandmother, Linda Lewis, told the New York Post that the resulting fire was enough to set off alarms in her house, and her grandson was taken to Downstate Medical Center to treat burns on his body but was later released.
