How much would you spend on the world’s coolest looking Android-powered smartwatch? Next week in Santa Clara on October 25th, i’m Watch will make its long awaited debut at ARM TechCon and try to convince you it’s worth the 249 € (~$ 340) asking price.

We have previously seen similar devices like the Sony Ericsson LiveView and Motorola’s leaked Tracy XL, but none of them have had the style and prestige that i’m Watch is aiming for. The device is still on pre-order in seven colors and also available with high-end configurations like titanium or white gold with diamonds (14.999 €!).

Inside the i’m Watch you will find an ARM IMX233 processor, 4 GB storage, 64 MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.1, and a built-in rechargeable Li-Po 400 mAh battery. On the outside you will find a 1.54” (240×240 pixel resolution) color TFT display, microphone, built in speaker, 3.5 mm headset jack, and charging jack.

Standby time with Bluetooth connection should be up to 30 hours and talk time with speakerphone should last up to 3 hours. Those that pre-order will also receive access to i’m Music, which includes unlimited, on-demand access to millions of songs.

When it comes to software, i’m Watch will ship with a handful of pre-loaded apps that will allow you to check the weather forecast, view stock market data, and receive notifications from Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and more. Developers will also be able to “write the history of smartwatches” when i’m Watch releases their open software development kit.

Hopefully we will be able to get our hands-on a review unit soon to let you know if it’s worth the premium price. I’d absolutely love to wear an Android-powered smartwatch, but I’m nervous about handing over $ 300 bucks until I’m convinced that it works and will be well supported.
