LG and Prada have teamed up yet again to deliver an Android smartphone geared toward the elegant crowd. According to the press release, the LG Prada 3.0 “combines the unmistakable style of Prada with LG’s innovative technology.”

The LG Prada 3.0 will run Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread when it launches in January. The specs on the device are pretty much in line with the current crop of high-end Android Smartphones, except for the 1GHz dual-core processor and 800×480 display. The full specs:

  • 4.3-inch Nova Plus TFT-LCD display with Gorilla Glass (though with an 800×480 pixel resolution – seriously??)
  • 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor
  • 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera, with 1080p/30fps video recording
  • Front Facing Camera (unknown megapixel count)
  • 8GB onboard storage, expandable to 40GB with 32GB  microSD card slot
  • NFC
  • 1,540 mAh battery

Though the LG Prada phone is running Android 2.3.7, it is running a UI overlay that appears to be a monochromed version of LG’s Android overlay. The LG overlay isn’t our favorite of the custom skins Android handset-makers are keen of putting on their devices, but the monochromed version looks pretty slick.

We don’t know whether the LG Prada 3.0 will be making its way stateside and have a hard time believing it would perform well if it does make its way across the pond. Anyone out there interested in the LG Prada 3.0?
