Well, it looks like the beat goes on when it comes to the original Droid series of smartphones. Thanks to the folks over at Droid Life, we’re able to get the first glimpses of the Motorola Droid 4 in some revealing shots. Of course, not much is known as of right now, especially when it comes to the type of processor or specific details on a release date.

The device itself doesn’t look too bad, it reflects what Motorola’s current design philosophy is, tapered edges. The Droid 4 will sport some respectable features, specs include the following:

  • 4-inch screen (assuming Super AMOLED Advanced)
  • Full 5-row “illuminated” keyboard
  • RAZR styling
  • 4G LTE
  • Non-removable battery
  • Android 2.3.5
  • 1080p video recording (assuming 8MP)
  • Front camera
  • HDMI out
  • MotoACTV syncing

The handset may carry a 1.2GHz OMAP4430 processor similar to that of the newly released Motorola Droid RAZR. Droid Life also noted that it wouldn’t be at all surprised if the phone ended up with a newer processor instead. Other than that, the D4 will be piled with a dump drunk load of bloatware from Verizon, and judging from the pics it looks ready to go.

With the release of the Droid RAZR and soon to be released Droid 4, Motorola definitely seems to be stepping its game up when it comes to building a clear separation between hardware design, which is far and away from its older handsets. Head over to the source link below for more images and info.
