Now this is something we don’t see often. It seems Verizon might be playing around with the dates (either that or they really like the number 1) and will release the Motorola Droid RAZR a bit later than the rumored November 10 date. According to information dug up at Android Central, Big Red might have decided to go out of its comfort zone and release the device next Friday, November 11, instead of their normal Thursday launches.

This date happens to be a special day in the history of the known universe, since it will be the only 11/11/11 for the next 100 years. Just to make things more interesting, the screen shots also display that the Droid RAZR might be released at 11:11 am. Cute move, right? It makes a bit more sense when you consider “1″ is the thinnest number, but we assume customers would rather have their devices on the 10th.

You might think Verizon’s gimmicky launch is cool; some of you might be annoyed, especially if you’ve pre-ordered the phone and/or want it as soon as possible. It would also be upsetting to have to wait a while after the stores open, though we have a feeling several stores will sell the phone as soon as their doors open.

What do you guys think? Would you mind waiting until the 11th at 11:11 am?

Verizon has just uploaded a Motorola Droid RAZR teaser video. After seeing this super thin device cut through everything around the city, Verizon goes ahead and drops a release date on us.

Coming from Verizon Wireless’ YouTube account, this video confirms that the device will be released on November 11, 2011. There you go, guys. We’ll have to wait another day. Check out the video and hit the comments section to let us know what you think.
