Moto X Pure Edition, one of our favorite phones of 2015, is getting Nougat

The Moto X Pure Edition was big and curvy and didn’t have a great camera, but we loved it anyway. And now it’s getting an update to Nougat.

Android 7.0 is rolling out to one of our favorite devices of 2015, the Moto X Pure Edition, also known as the Moto X Style in some parts of the world.

Motorola’s parent company Lenovo promised the update way back in October of last year, but has been prioritizing its 2016  [Read More…]

MrMobile’s best Android tablet (is from 2015)

It’s been 15 months since Google’s Pixel C launched, and it hasn’t diminished in quality (or price). It still has some annoying bugs, and there’s still software that just won’t work in landscape mode, but after over a year since release, I still find myself gravitating toward it whenever I’m able to leave my bigger machines behind.

I’m Michael Fisher, alias MrMobile, and it’d be ridiculous for me to suggest you buy the Pixel C … at full price.  [Read More…]

The Moto 360 (2015) has officially exited the Google Store

Tossing out the old to make room for the new.

With Google’s smartwatches making headway in the rumor mill, it’s likely this won’t surprise you: the second-gen Moto 360 is no longer available in the Google Store.

Predictably, Amazon Echo sales were dramatically higher than last year: nine times higher than the same period last year, in fact. That is of course fueled by the massive increase in popularity and injection of Echo into popular culture, but also by the launch of the  [Read More…]

As we await a refresh, Google ends sales of Chromebook Pixel 2015

With refreshes imminent, there’s little need to keep selling a $ 1300 18-month-old Chromebook.

After discontinuing the lower-end $ 999 model back in April, Google has taken the axe to the last remaining Chromebook Pixel model it was selling. The higher-end $ 1299 version of the Chromebook Pixel 2015 is no longer on sale from the Google Store or the handful of retailers that were still selling the prohibitively expensive laptop, and VentureBeat received a statement from Google indicating  [Read More…]
