There isn’t going to be a Snapdragon 865+, according to Meizu

The Snapdragon 865 will remain top dog for a while.

What you need to know Qualcomm is probably not releasing a Snapdragon 865+ this year despite early rumors to the contrary. Meizu’s CMO, Wan Zhigiang, shared the information in a post on Weibo. Qualcomm had previously released an 855+ last year mid-cycle, fueling expectations that it would do so this year.

What you need to know Amazon is still preparing for Prime Day 2020 as normal according to newly obtained emails. Sellers are being notified to have stock ready to ship to Amazon by mid-May. The event will likely take place in mid-July as usual.

Samsung Galaxy S20 will have a 5x optical zoom according to latest report

Korean optics manufacturer makes no mention of components for 10x optical zoom in the Galaxy S20.

What you need to know A report out of Korea shows that optics manufacturer Optrontech is supplying prisms that support 5x optical zoom for the Samsung Galaxy S20. That contradicts previous rumors that the Galaxy S20 Ultra will sport a camera with 10x optical zoom. It’s still possible that the S20 Ultra could feature a 10x digital zoom though.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has defied common sense to break pre-order records despite the battery fires and global recall fiasco of last year’s Galaxy Note 7. Samsung has now released figures on how well the device is really doing.
