What you need to know Google’s AirDrop competitor Nearby Sharing gets shown off in new hands-on video. Developers over at XDA were able to get it enabled and running on multiple devices, including Pixel and OnePlus phones. The new name reveals some important details about the new service’s scope and purpose.

What you need to know Google has renamed Fast Share to Nearby Share, a name that better fits the upcoming service’s purpose and scope. Fast Share, Google’s AirDrop alternative, leaks with new features and UI

Fast Share is expected to be the AirDrop equivalent for Android.
