Ally Bank debit cards now work with Android Pay and Samsung Pay

If you’re an Ally Bank customer, you can now use your cards with Android Pay and Samsung Pay. Ally added support for both mobile payments platforms, noting that all debit card customers should now be able to add their cards to either platform.

Fitbit acquires Coin’s payment platform; no more Coin smart cards coming

Fitbit has announced it has acquired both the payment platform and key personnel from the “smart card” company Coin. The specific financial terms of the deal, which was completed on May 12, were not disclosed.

Fitbit stated:

MasterCard and BMO are bringing biometric verification to corporate cards

MasterCard has teamed up with the BMO Financial Group for the rollout of a biometric verification program for corporate credit cards, which will allow card holders in the U.S. and Canada to confirm online purchases with either their fingerprint or using facial recognition. Verification will take place through MasterCard’s Identity Check app, and the program will at first be limited to corporate cards issued to BMO employees in the U.S. and Canada.

Samsung Pay adds Wells Fargo to its supported cards

Samsung Pay, the mobile payment solution from Samsung, has added support for Wells Fargo. This marks support for 70 different banks and credit unions, which Samsung says covers around 70 percent of the U.S. credit and debit card market. Some of the other banks and credit cards that are supported include American Express, Chase, PNC, Bank of America and many others.
