California gets its first real alert through Earthquake Early Warning app

Well, 40 people got the warning…

What you need to know California residents have received their first-ever real earthquake alert. The alert went out via the MyShake app, for an earthquake in Parkfield, CA. More than 40 people received the alert about 1 second before it hit.

U.S. carriers offer free calls, texts and data after Hurricane Maria and Mexico City earthquake

Carriers are offering free calls, texts and data following Hurricane Maria and the latest Mexican earthquake.

As Hurricane Maria continues to make its way along the East Coast of the United States (after already destroying numerous Carribean islands), AT&T and T-Mobile have announced they will be waiving fees for calls and text messages sent to affected areas, as well as offering unlimited calls, texts and data to customers inside the affected regions. Cell carriers waive fees to following earthquake and hurricane Irma

AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon have waived fees following deadly earthquake.

Following a deadly earthquake of the Mexican coast, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have all announced they will be waiving fees for anyone calling to the region. The earthquake has been said by Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto to be the strongest earthquake felt by the country in 100 years.
