After finding that Chinese handset manufacturer Xiaomi was infringing on select Ericsson patents, the Delhi High Court has issued an injunction against the vendor, which prohibits Xiaomi from selling, manufacturing or importing devices in the country. The ban is set to be in effect at least until February 5, 2015.
Sony Ericsson is updating its “Bridge” application for Mac users, adding the ability to apply OS updates to Xperia smartphones over USB. This functionality has been available in SE’s PC Companion tool for Windows for some time, but until now Mac users have had to wait for updates to roll out over the air.

The European Commission has given Sony the OK to take full control of Sony Ericsson, three months after Sony paid €1.05 billion for Ericsson’s share of the partnership. Sony Ericsson’s financials for Q4 2011 were announced today, and they look pretty rough. They lost 207 million Euros in the quarter (roughly $ 270 million), and 247 million Euros for the full year. They attribute the loss to “intense competition, price erosion and restructuring charges,” or in other words, moving everything into Sony’s offices as part of the acquisition.
