Snapchat now lets users create location-based filters on-demand

Snapchat is expanding its geofilters, letting anyone create a location-based filter on-demand. Originally created for public spaces and events, users can now make geofilters, which offer custom photo filter designs which appear in Snapchat based on a location, for their businesses, parties, and more. Geofilters can be purchased for up to 30 days.

Pocket Casts snags huge update with time-based filters, Marshmallow support, and more

Popular podcasts app Pocket Casts has picked up an update to version 5.3 that introduces several new features, including the ability to filter podcasts by date. Also new is Marshmallow support, which lets you save the app’s settings across devices with auto backup.

Instagram adds emoji support for hashtags, along with three new filters

Instagram is allowing emojis to work within hashtags as part of its latest update, along with adding three new filters for the popular photo sharing app.

Emojis can now be added to Instagram posts via hashtags, and users can tap on them in captions. Users can also search for them on the Explore page.
