Google Duo group calls are coming to the web as a Chrome preview

They’re also adding a family mode with fun video effects and masks.

What you need to know Group calls will be coming to Duo on the web in the coming weeks, initially as a Chrome preview. A new family mode lets you draw and apply video filters in Duo calls. Those same filters and effects are coming to regular Duo calls as well.

Microsoft Teams maximum group chat size to increase this month

Group chats in Microsoft Teams can more than double in size, thanks to an update rolling out this month.

New WhatsApp beta expands group call limit to eight people

The feature is live in the latest betas for both iOS and Android.

What you need to know WhatsApp is expanding the maximum number of participants allowed in a group call to eight. It’s also making it easier to start group calls in group chats of four people or fewer. The changes are rolling out in the latest iOS and Android betas, so a formal release shouldn’t be too far off.

WhatsApp will soon let you host larger group calls

The call UI will also be changed to more prominently display the fact that WhatsApp is using end-to-end encryption.

What you need to know WhatsApp is looking to expand its limit on group audio and video calls. The latest betas for the app suggest the limit will be increased from the current four per call. All it takes is a simple Google search.

What you need to know WhatsApp group chats may be far less private than one would imagine. Invite links for private WhatsApp groups can be easily found via a Google Search, meaning anyone could potentially join a private chat. The issue likely stems from a mistake on WhatsApp’s part.

Google tests tab group sharing on Chrome for Android

It’s already available on Chrome Canary builds.

Latest WhatsApp update lets you control who can add you to a group

You can now exclude specific contacts with the help of the new “My Contacts Except” option under group chat privacy settings.

What you need to know WhatsApp has replaced the “Nobody” option under Privacy Settings for groups with a new “My Contacts Except” option. PayPal is leaving the founding group for Facebook’s Libra cryptocurrency

PayPal remains “supportive” of Libra.

What you need to know PayPal is officially leaving Facebook’s Libra Association. The Libra Association still has 27 other members, including Visa, Uber, Spotify, and others. Facebook plans to launch its Libra cryptocurrency next year.
