Project Fi’s mysterious mid-tier phone rumored to be the Moto X4

Upcoming Motorola mid-tier phone could be the first non-Google phone in Project Fi’s roster.

Late last week, Google said that one of its partners would launch a mid-tier device on Project Fi. According to seasoned leaker Evan Blass at VentureBeat, that partner is Motorola, and the device in question is the Moto X4.

Kevin Spacey is investing in a mysterious gaming smartphone startup, Wonder

A new report claims to have some information on a startup called Wonder. The company is apparently working on a gaming-themed smartphone and counts actor Kevin Spacey among its investors.

San Francisco-based startup Nextbit will officially reveal the first concrete details of its first hardware product, an Android-based smartphone, on September 1. The company first revealed its plans to enter the crowded Android device market in late July.

Mysterious metal Huawei chassis leaks out, high-end specs rumored

Chinese manufacturer Huawei is focusing more on premium materials in an effort to break into the high-end smartphone space, and today we have our first look at a new metal-backed Huawei handset. Published on China’s Weibo social network by a software engineer, the shot shows the back panel for the phone, alongside what would appear to be an HTC One Max-style rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Epson working on mysterious Android device for MWC

Epson has me intrigued. The company best known for printers, projectors, and scanners is working on a mysterious new device that runs the Android OS and is expected to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in late February.
