Lyft is prepping a number of new features for passengers and drivers

Features include background location tracking, a price watch function, dark mode, and more.

What you need to know Google has removed the phone number requirement from Duo’s web app. Users now only need their Google account to make use of the service. The change is rolling out now to non-G Suite account holders.

You can no longer sign up for Facebook Messenger with just a phone number

Facebook says existing Messenger users will not be affected.

What you need to know Facebook will no longer allow new users to sign up for Messenger without a Facebook account. The company says users who already use Messenger without a Facebook account can continue using it without having to do anything. Facebook had introduced the ability to sign up for Messenger without a Facebook account in 2015.

Facebook will no longer use your 2FA phone number to recommend friends

Rolls out globally next year.

What you need to know Facebook will no longer use the phone number you provided for 2FA to recommend new friends. The change comes as part of the FTC settlement which fined the company $ 5 billion and required it to create policies to increase the privacy of its users. Twitter now supports two-factor authentication without a phone number

But it’s not as simple as it sounds…

What you need to know Twitter now supports two-factor authentication without a phone number. Previously, users were still required to add a phone number to their Twitter account as a failsafe. Security key users will still need a second method of authentication because security keys are not supported beyond Twitter’s web version.

HBO announces a number of originals, including Game of Thrones prequel

Greg Berlanti, Elizabeth Banks, and more are creating originals for the new streaming service.

WarnerMedia ended its HBO Max investor’s call with a bang on Tuesday, announcing the House of the Dragon, a Game of Thrones prequel set 300 years before the events of the hit show.
