Huawei posts revenue increase of 87% in first half of 2015, smartphone sales up 39%

Huawei announced that it sold 48.2 million smartphones in the first six months of 2015, an increase of 39 percent from the same period a year ago. Improved sales in the high-end segment allowed the vendor to net a revenue increase of 87 percent to $ 7.23 billion.

Verizon posts Moto X (2014) Android 5.1 release notes, OTA incoming

The Moto X update onslought continues today, this time with Verizon. The carrier in red has posted the release notes for Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Moto X (2014), signaling that an OTA update should become available momentarily.

Lenovo posts strong quarterly results, becomes third largest smartphone vendor in the world

Lenovo announced its earnings figures for the financial year 2014-2015, with the world’s third-largest smartphone manufacturer boasting increased revenue and sales figures.

In the three months ending March 2015, which Lenovo described as a “seasonally slow quarter with significant currency impacts,” the company made $ 11.3 billion in revenue, a year-over-year increase of 21 percent.

Motorola posts Android 5.1 release notes for 2013 and 2014 Moto X

Motorola has posted release notes for the Android 5.1 update for both the first-gen Moto X, as well as the second-gen AT&T and Pure Edition variants.

While it doesn’t appear that the updates are rolling out to Moto Xs just yet, this is a significant step forward for the above devices.

Collections begin arriving on Google+, lets you group your posts by topic

Google+ is getting yet another new feature, Collections, which allows you to group your posts by topic.

Collections is the latest feature to be added to Google+, allowing you to group your posts by topic instead of posting at random. Grouping posts by topic is nothing new; Pinterest has been doing it for quite some time, and this feature brings a very similar feel.

Xiaomi posts video of Mi 4i launch event

Xiaomi launched a new phone, the Mi 4i, in New Delhi, India on April 23, and they have posted the event online for everyone to check out.

AT&T posts Q1 2015 earnings: $32.6 billion in revenue, 1.2 million net wireless adds

AT&T has posted its earnings for the first quarter of 2015 today, reporting a slight bump in revenue and its lowest first-quarter churn rate ever.

AT&T‘s combined revenue for its wireless and wireline businesses in the first quarter was $ 32.6 billion, which marks a year-over-year bump of 0.3 percent.

Motorola posts Android 5.1 release notes for the 2014 Moto X

Motorola has just posted the release notes for the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the 2014 Moto X Pure Edition.

Lenovo CEO posts, then removes, possible second-gen Moto 360

In what appears to be an accidental post, Lenovo’s CEO has revealed some images that are possibly the second-generation hardware for the Moto 360.

Lenovo’s CEO, Yang Yuanqing, has posted and since pulled a few images showing off a briefcase of unknown smartwatches, which are reportedly the new Moto 360.
