Nest preparing new security camera with 4K video, fresh design

Nest isn’t resting, releasing a fresh indoor camera with new features.

Nest, perhaps known best for its popular smart thermostat, is reportedly ready to refresh its Nest Cam camera with new features and a higher resolution. The Google-owned company most recently refreshed its camera lineup with an outdoor-ready version near the end of 2016.

Canadian carriers are preparing for 5G, but don’t get too excited yet

Canadian carriers are poised to begin tests for next-generation 5G service in the run-up to a public launch in the next five years.

According to The Star, Bell and Telus already have plans to begin 5G trials in their labs, and are working with international telecom standards bodies to finalize the 5G spec, which should happen over the next couple of years. Rogers is sitting tight, but is also eager to begin trials.

Verizon and Google said to be preparing bids for Yahoo

Verizon is reportedly preparing to make a first-round bid for Yahoo next week. Both Verizon and its AOL subsidiary are said to be in talks with three separate financial institutions about the bid. Google may also make its own bid for the beleaguered company.

Lenovo preparing a ‘more innovative’ Motorola smartphone for a July launch

Lenovo is preparing to launch its next major smartphone later this year in the U.S. In fact, Lenovo CEO Yuanqing Yang stated the phone, from its Motorola division, will be out sometime in July.

Yang revealed the news as part of a chat with The Wall Street Journal, but didn’t offer much in the way of details:
