The free app handles SMS and MMS duties and only SMS and MMS duties, though with more than a bit of Material Design flair. First there was Messaging, Google Voice, and Google Chat; then there was only Hangouts, and now there’s two again.

Google Fit app released to track all your moves

Google announced it back at Google I/O 2014 in June, and built in support for it into Android 5.0 Lollipop in August, but it’s now finally here, it being Google Fit. The app just hit Google Play, bringing a fairly basic activity tracker to your Android phone. Google Fit tracks walking, running, and cycling activity, either on your phone or from an Android Wear device.

Race against the robots! Anki Drive released for Android

Anki is now porting its remote-controlled racing game Anki Drive to Android where you can control race cars on a real track using your smartphone. The game initially debuted on iOS and now owners of the Nexus 5 and the latest Samsung smartphones and tablets can join in on the action, though cross-platform racing isn’t yet available.

Google announced in a blog post that it has released the source code to the popular Google I/O 2014 app, a tool that was useful to attendees of this year’s Google’s developer conference.
