Gradual ringtones make their way to Google Pixel phones

Ramping Ringer rolls out to Pixel phones for a more discrete ringing experience.

This update is not dependent on receiving the November security patch and may appear in your sound settings at any time. Upon receiving a phone call, the phone will vibrate for 5 seconds and then proceed into playing your audible ringtone after that.

T-Mobile fined $40 million because it played fake ringtones and lies to rural users about call quality

Unlike the Uncarrier.

The FCC has fined T-Mobile $ 40 million for faking connections to rural customers in Wisconsin, according to a release. It also inserted fake ring tones into those calls to make it seem like they were connecting and failing, even though no one was on the other end of the call to pick up.

AT&T Nexus 6 comes with locked SIM and carrier ringtones

AT&T’s variant of the Nexus 6 has a bit more disappointing news coming towards it today.
