AT&T announced six new Android devices earlier this month at their developers conference during CES, and now we are learning more details about specific release dates. Jonathan Geller of BGR is reporting that AT&T will launch at least seven Android devices in Q1 including the Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Rugby Smart, AT&T Fusion, Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD, Samsung Exhilarate, Sony Xperia Ion and Sony Crystal.

AT&T’s holiday white Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket available Dec. 4

Just a quick heads up that white Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket — that’s essentially AT&T’s LTE version of the Galaxy S II — will be available starting Dec. 4. Specs are exactly the same as the black Skyrocket, save for the white shell, and pricing remains the same: $ 249 on contract.

We’re still not seeing it on AT&T’s product page, but Samsung most certainly does have a white version of the Galaxy S II Skyrocket waiting in the wings, for those of you who are into that sort of things. Specs look to be identical to the black Skyrocket, save for the shell. Keep an eye out for this one to be available at some point, we reckon.

Samsung Skyrocket OTA update pushing out now, updates to Android 2.3.6

If you’re rocking the new LTE Samsung Skyrocket on AT&T, you might want to check for an OTA update.  An OTA to Android 2.3.6 is pushing out now, and we manually checked on our review unit (Menu>Settings>Software update>Check for updates) and sure enough, one was waiting.  We’re not quite sure what was changed here — we know that 2.3.6 addressed a bug in Google voice search, but we imagine Samsung and AT&T  [Read More…]
