MediaTek wants to bring 10-core processors to smartphones in late 2015

MediaTek wants to challenge companies like Qualcomm on the high-end with the announcement of the 10-core Helio X20.

The new 10-core processor from MediaTek has been designed so that the cores are arranged in three groups, or “clusters,” which the company claims will allow the Helio X20 to handle different tasks more efficiently.

Lollipop now available for all of Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones

Sprint has begun a rollout of an update for its non-Spark version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 that will bring Android 5.0 Lollipop to that device.

Sprint previously updated the version of the Galaxy S4 that supported its Sprint Spark LTE network to Lollipop few weeks ago.

Nokia denies online reports it will start making and selling smartphones again

Nokia has issued an official statement that denies recent online reports that the Finland-based company will make and sell smartphones once again.

The statement refers to a story posted on a China-based website on Friday that allegedly quoted the head of Nokia in that country. That report said Nokia would being making Android-based smartphones in one of its Chinese facilities.
