Huawei networking equipment for Vodafone found to have hidden backdoors

Yet another bad look for Huawei’s global image.

Huawei’s current presence in the global technology space is…not great. It’s already banned in four major countries across the world, and thanks to a new report from Bloomberg, the image of the company is once again headed in the wrong direction.

Speaking with Bloomberg, Vodafone confirmed that it discovered vulnerabilities in Huawei-made equipment that it was using in 2011 and 2012. Per the report:

On-contract prices start at £28 per month for Huawei’s latest flagship.

Vodafone is the first UK network operator to open up pre-orders for the new Huawei P10. The Chinese company’s latest flagship is available to pre-order in white or black (sadly not the eye-catching “dazzling blue” we’ve been using lately), with on-contract prices starting at £28 per month. (That’s for 500MB, with a £200 upfront fee.)

Play Store carrier billing is now live for Airtel and Vodafone customers in India

You can now roam across Europe with Vodafone for free

Vodafone has followed in the footsteps of both Three and Tesco Mobile to offer inclusive roaming in select plans. Bundled with the UK mobile network’s Red and Red Value packages, the addition of included roaming allows phone users to text, call and access online services without incurring extra charges. There’s one slight downside to this addition, however, and that’s the limiting of data, which will vary by plan.

The Huawei P9 is readily available from Vodafone. The UK mobile operator has the smartphone listed on a variety of plans, starting at £28 per month (£10 upfront fee) with 1GB of data. Alternatively, you can purchase the handset outright for £300. Should you be dead set on getting a plan too, you’ll want to look at the more expensive bundles for more data, like the Vodafone Red Value 5GB plan for £38 a month.
