Samsung posts ‘solid’ Q1 results, forecasts weak Q2 profit due to COVID-19

The company’s Q1 operating profit increased by KRW 0.2 trillion ($ 164 million) in Q1 2020.

What you need to know Samsung Electronics has announced its Q1 2020 financial results. Samsung’s Q2 2019 profit falls by a staggering 56% after weak memory demand

Analysts expect the memory chip market to recover only in the second half of 2020.

Samsung forecasts dip in Q2 2018 profits following weak smartphone sales

Samsung is still making boatloads of money, but profits don’t quite match up to previous quarters.

Samsung announced record earnings for four straight quarters, but that streak is about to come to an end. In its Q2 2018 earnings guidance, Samsung is forecasting an operating profit of $ 13.2 billion (14.8 trillion won), up 5% from the same period a year ago.

Samsung’s Q3 earnings dragged down by weak smartphone sales

Given intense competition in the global smartphone race, Samsung Electronics reported its third quarter earnings, showing a steep decline in profits of almost 60 percent compared to a year ago. Global profits during the quarter came in at $ 3.9 billion, which is in line with the guidance Samsung had previously issued. Revenues fell by about 20 percent to $ 45 billion when compared to the same quarter last year.
